PRACTICAL TECHNIQUE DAYS - LISTEN, WATCH AND DO
Tired of sitting listening to hours of endless talk to get your CPD? Want to develop your skills in key areas of Restorative Dentistry?
Headway Training presents a series of short, practical courses designed to give you the opportunity to develop your skills and clinical techniques. Rather than just listening to a lecture, these courses give you the background information, show you the clinical relevance, and then let you practice the skills under supervision.
The short courses are led by Malcolm Edwards, with Malcolm Riley and Louis Mackenzie. Courses are held throughout the year at regional centres with access to phantom head facilities where necessary. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical techniques and knowledge, with mentoring from a highly experienced, approachable specialist, at a local venue. All courses are accredited for verifiable CPD, and the short courses cost £295 inclusive of VAT per day.
The comprehensive, 20 day course is led by Malcolm Edwards and Roger Mosedale and costs £325 plus VAT per day. Numbers are strictly limited, so early booking is advised. We believe that this is the most comprehensive, part time one year course in the UK, outside of the Universities. Please click on the course title for further information.
Patient assessment, treatment planning and presentation to patients - one day
Proper patient assessment and treatment planning is the cornerstone of restorative dentistry. Get it wrong and you can dread seeing certain patient’s names on your day list. Get it right and even complicated cases can become easily managed. Presenting treatment options to patients is a legal requirement, but more than that, if it is done properly, it can be a real practice builder.
Upgrade your intra-coronal restorations - one day
Having problems establishing a good contact area with your posterior composites? This is an excellent opportunity to practice techniques, and try out new instruments and matrix systems, designed to make your life easier, and produce high quality, aesthetic restorations.
Dentistry in the Aesthetic zone - two day
Our patients are far more aesthetically aware than ever before, and expect all of our work to meet their aesthetic ideals. We will look at the fundamentals of aesthetics, and practice preparations and techniques that will help us to meet these ideals, with as little tooth reduction as possible.
Practical occlusion in Restorative Dentistry - two day
Often seen as a mystic dark art, we will show you how a simple understanding of occlusal stability, and mastering three simple clinical procedures will enable you to plan, and tackle more complicated cases with confidence. A few minutes of clinical time examining the occlusion, when you know what to look for, will reap the benefits of long lasting durable restorations in a stable occlusal arrangement.
Periodontics – Integrated planning and practical techniques - two day
Neglect periodontal disease at your peril, it is a major cause of dental litigation. In the company of one of the UK’s most experienced clinical periodontists, see how you can incorporate effective periodontal management into your practice. You will be shown how to design and raise your flaps, and how to put them back again. Then it is your turn!
Practical Restorative Dentistry - 20 day
This structured course, led by Malcolm Edwards and Roger Mosedale, has been designed for practices looking to move into the private sector and offer their patients an enhanced level of service, or to those practitioners already working under private contract who wish to develop their skills and services beyond what they currently offer. This thorough course covers the broad remit of restorative dentistry in depth, and provides an excellent opportunity to fast track your knowledge and experience.
